		<abstract>The objective of this work was to detect changes in land use and occupation in the municipality of Rondon do Pará (PA), through the geographic object-oriented classification approach (GEOBIA), aiming to identify whether the inclusion of the municipality in the priority list for actions Prevention, monitoring, and control of deforestation in the Amazon has inhibited the progress of the process. The methodological procedure involved the calculation of vegetation indices to highlight interest classes and the generation of geo-objects. The results show the conversion of 98,904 ha of natural vegetation to the anthropized area, demonstrating the need to intensify surveillance and the development of sustainable bases to change this scenario.</abstract>
