There are several important applications for this research, such as to calculate the effect of lunar and solar perturbations on high altitude Earth satellites. In the present research the goal is to study the evolution of retrograde orbits around the Earth. There is a special interest to see under which conditions a near-circular orbit remains near-circular. The existence of circular, equatorial and frozen orbits are also considered, The results are valid for any system of primaries by making a time transformation that depends on the masses of the bodies involved. Several plots will show the time-histories of the Keplerian elements of the orbits involved. %8 Oct.-Dec. %N 4 %T Retrograde orbits perturbed by a third-body %@electronicmailaddress prado@dem.inpe.br %K astrodynamics, third-body pertutbation, retrograde orbits, space trajectories. %@secondarytype PRE PN %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup banon %@usergroup marciana %@usergroup simone %@group DMC-INPE-MCT-BR %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %@issn 0100-7386 %2 sid.inpe.br/iris@1916/2005/12.14.12.14.34 %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@project CNPq - contract 300221/95-9; FAPESP - contract 2000/14769-4. %B Revista Brasileira de Ciências Mecânicas %@versiontype publisher %P 364-371 %4 sid.inpe.br/iris@1916/2005/12.14.12.14 %@documentstage not transferred %D 2005 %V 27 %A Prado, Antonio Fernando Bertachini de Almeida, %@dissemination PORTALCAPES; SCIELO. %@area ETES
