The present model allows us to describe the vacuum vessel either as a thin shell or as a large collection of rings, formally reducing the problem to a set of coupled circuit equations. Results are compared with measurements of the electromotive force and current distribution on the vacuum vessel of the ETE spherical tokamak. The mathematical model is described in detail, enabling application to other machines. %8 Aug. %N 8 %T Simulation of eddy currents in spherical tokamaks %@electronicmailaddress ludwig@plasma.inpe.br %K eddy currents, spherical tokamaks, vacuum vessel, central column. %@secondarytype PRE PI %@usergroup administrator %@usergroup marciana %@usergroup simone %@group LAP-INPE-MCT-BR %@group LAP-INPE-MCT-BR %@group LAP-INPE-MCT-BR %@group LAP-INPE-MCT-BR %@secondarykey INPE--PRE/ %U http://iopscience.iop.org/0029-5515/46/8/S09 %@issn 0029-5515 %2 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m16@80/2006/11.22.17.42.05 %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %@affiliation Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE) %B Nuclear Fusion %@versiontype publisher %P S629-S644 %4 sid.inpe.br/mtc-m16@80/2006/11.22.17.42 %@documentstage not transferred %D 2006 %V 46 %@doi 10.1088/0029-5515/46/8/S09 %A Ludwig, Gerson Otto, %A Del Bosco, Edson, %A Ferreira, Júlio Guimarães, %A Berni, Luiz Ângelo, %@dissemination WEBSCI; PORTALCAPES. %@area FISPLASMA
